Job summary

A leading recruitment firm is seeking a detail-oriented Credit Risk Analyst to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will assess and manage credit exposures while collaborating with stakeholders and presenting findings to senior committees. Ideal candidates will possess a BCom (Hons) in Finance and have 1–3 years of relevant experience in credit risk analysis.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in credit risk analysis.
  • Experience with corporate and public sector credit risk is required.
  • Exposure to workouts and project finance is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze new credit requests and conduct annual reviews.
  • Prepare ratings, Loss Given Default assessments, and quarterly reports.
  • Attend client meetings and monitor ongoing risks.

Job description

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for managing credit risk?

Join a dynamic team as a Credit Risk Analyst, where you'll play a vital role in assessing, managing, and monitoring credit exposures within shareholders' portfolios.

Key Responsibilities : Analyze new credit requests to identify potential risks and opportunities.Conduct annual reviews of existing credit exposures and ensure they remain within acceptable thresholds.Prepare ratings and Loss Given Default (LGD) assessments for credit counterparties.Present findings and recommendations to the credit committee for approval.Monitor ongoing risks and take action to mitigate potential issues.Calculate and report on impairments quarterly as part of the watchlist process.Draft and present quarterly memoranda to the Financial Market Risk Forum.Prepare other reports or recommendations for the Financial Market Risk Forum, including policy decisions and project updates.Attend client meetings to foster strong relationships and deliver exceptional service.Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and maintain professional communication.Qualifications & Experience : Education : BCom (Hons) with a major in Finance or a related field.Advantageous : CA (SA), CFA, or equivalent qualification.1–3 years of experience in credit risk analysis, with exposure to corporate and public sector credit risk.
