Main Purpose of the Job
The Credit Manager manages the credit assessment process, makes decisions, and recommends credit approvals for applications from Corporate Banking and Structured Investment divisions.
Responsibilities include:
- Approving loans and credit limits within the Regional Credit Committee (RCC) delegation and reviewing transactions for recommendations within their authority.
- Preparing credit executive summaries and presenting them to Lending Committees (PCC, ECC, CIC, & Full Board) with clear recommendations and conditions of approval to manage risk.
- Declining non-bankable applications before escalation to relevant committees.
- Providing bankable solutions to Corporate Banking and Structured Investments.
- Managing and mitigating potential risks within the bank's approved mandate and risk appetite, reviewing deals, and proposing appropriate structures.
- Ensuring management information is captured to produce CROM and ERCO reports.
- Managing Credit Committee processes, policies, and guiding the chairperson and members.
- Overseeing Credit and Investment Committee processes in conjunction with the Board Secretariat.
- Maintaining records of PCC & ECC meetings and decisions, ensuring governance compliance.
- Contributing to the review and improvement of Credit Policies and Procedures to meet legal and business requirements.
- Communicating with stakeholders to address performance gaps and guiding deal selection and presentation.
- Managing, controlling, and authorizing tasks performed by Credit Analysts, providing coaching and performance management.
