Credit Manager Job Description

Within this role, you'll have a comprehensive scope, overseeing credit activities across the client portfolio.

You'll lead the Credit Analyst and other risk teams, ensuring robust credit analysis and preparation of credit applications for facility adjustments.

Collaborating with stakeholders, you'll present well-considered credit recommendations to committees, contributing to effective risk management and business strategies.

The dynamic environment offers exciting opportunities for professional growth, with success defined by delivering sound credit papers and facilitating smooth credit operations.

Key qualifications of the Credit Manager include:
  • Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance, Accounting, or higher preferred
  • 3+ years of lending or credit experience required
  • Sound credit analysis experience required
  • Commercial legal knowledge preferred
Key duties for the Credit Manager include but are not limited to:
  1. Conduct detailed credit analysis covering financial, operational, collateral, shareholder, and industry aspects
  2. Prepare credit papers for client facility adjustments and covenant breaches
  3. Present requests to the board and Group credit committees
  4. Engage continuously with clients for monitoring, identifying credit stress, and assisting in recoveries, while ensuring compliance and collaborating with stakeholders to manage credit risk effectively.

Additional requirements include proficiency in banking products, strong analytical skills, understanding of credit principles, industry knowledge, familiarity with legal aspects, Basel and AIRB frameworks, financial modelling, and proficiency in relevant software.
