Job description

We are seeking a Credit Manager.

To lead and coordinate the credit management function at a national level, ensuring the achievement of debtor’s day targets, optimising cash flow, and maintaining healthy customer credit relationships. The role also provides strategic input into working capital and risk management.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • B. Com Degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in credit management in a senior or national role.
  • General management acumen.
  • Excellent knowledge of Accpac accounting programme.
  • Strong working knowledge of credit risk principles and collections strategy.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
  • Experience with Accpac.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated people leadership and team development skills.
  • Strong general business and financial acumen

Key Responsibilities:

  • National oversight of the credit control function across all branches.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to branch credit controllers to meet collections and debtor targets.
  • Direct engagement with key and high-risk accounts, ensuring timely resolution of disputes and collections.
  • Regular analysis and reporting of debtor ageing, risk exposure, and collection performance.
  • Collaborate with operations and sales to resolve disputes and ensure aligned customer service.
  • Implement and monitor credit policies, procedures, and internal controls in accordance with company standards and legislation.
  • Assess and approve customer credit applications and establish credit limits in line with risk appetite.
  • Develop, coach, and motivate credit control staff at all levels for maximum effectiveness.
  • Drive performance management, disciplinary processes, and succession planning within the credit team.
  • Identify system and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce debtor days.
  • Escalate high-risk issues to the Finance Director and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to support group-level financial objectives.
