Job summary

Old Mutual in Cape Town seeks a mid-level Credit Investment Analyst to lead and execute complex credit analysis, assess credit risk, and support strategic investment decisions within the Group Credit Investment portfolio.

You will translate financial data into actionable insights, review legal documents, and collaborate with asset managers to monitor performance and manage risk, requiring 2–3 years of relevant experience and a strong analytical mindset.

Qualifications

• B Comm, B Bus Sci or equivalent.
• CA(SA) with 2-3 years post articles experience.
• CFA will be a distinct advantage.
• Current, relevant knowledge of credit investments across unlisted and fixed income instruments.

Responsibilities

• Analyse financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess creditworthiness of potential credit transactions.
• Prepare detailed credit analysis reports and make recommendations to the Group Credit Committee regarding transactions.
• Monitor existing credit transactions for changes in credit risk and update risk and credit ratings as necessary.
• Prepare market and industry research.
