Purpose Statement

Join Capitec Bank in Stellenbosch as a Credit Intelligence Analyst and be part of an innovative team dedicated to revolutionizing the banking industry. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your analytical skills in credit risk management, helping us deliver smarter financial solutions to our clients.

  • Assume end-to-end responsibility for a credit intelligence workstream through:
  • Leading and guiding the delivery of complex analytical output.
  • Leading the identification, development, implementation, and maintenance of new credit intelligence strategies and solutions.
  • Addressing business problems related to the credit intelligence workstream.
  • Building and maintaining statistical models to inform credit intelligence decision-making.
  • Evaluating reporting and operations to improve productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Providing guidance and technical oversight to junior team members.
  • Creating and implementing management plans for projects with transparent communication at all levels.
Experience

Minimum: 4 - 6 years’ experience in retail credit analysis, including familiarity with programming languages such as SQL, SAS, R, Python, and skills in descriptive and diagnostic analytics, statistical modeling, and data visualization.

  • High proficiency with SQL, AWS, Azure, PowerBI, and database management.
  • If holding an Honours degree: 3 - 5 years’ experience in retail credit analysis, including SQL programming and descriptive analytics.
  • Experience in credit intelligence performance and optimization.

Ideal:

  • Experience in credit recoveries, external debt collections, debt review environments, FMCG retail.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and PoC testing.
  • Extensive experience with data visualization.
  • High proficiency in technical writing.
  • Experience with Capitec banking systems.
  • Leadership experience during projects.
  • Portfolio-specific experience.
Qualifications (Minimum)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Statistics.
Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)
  • A relevant postgraduate degree in Finance or Statistics.
