Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, meticulous, and diligent Credit Control Manager to lead our credit control team and implement policies and procedures in line with company standards. This role is part of our Finance / Admin department at our regional office in Bellville.

Minimum Requirements

• Qualification in Financial Accounting or related field
• At least 5 years of proven managerial experience, preferably managing a credit control team
• Ability to meet deadlines and KPIs, and to implement processes effectively
• Proficiency in MS Office suite
• Experience in a fast-paced, multi-skilled environment
• Systems experience is essential
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee credit control strategies and policies
• Monitor client creditworthiness and determine credit limits and payment terms
• Analyze and report on credit control performance, providing insights and recommendations
• Guide the credit control team to ensure timely debt collection
• Perform credit references for new clients
• Review aged debt reports and manage debt collection efforts
• Verify and approve invoices and credit notes
• Ensure accurate payment allocation and bank statement matching
• Maintain account reconciliations and client statements
• Manage write-offs and bad debt provisioning
• Prepare and submit claims and liquidation reports
• Manage relationships with high-risk accounts and client portals
• Produce regular operational and management reports

Risk Management & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to credit control regulations and guidelines
• Maintain compliance with South African labor laws and company policies
• Formulate and review credit policies regularly
• Stay updated on industry best practices in credit control

Leadership & People Management

• Lead and support the credit control team, fostering high performance and morale
• Manage performance reviews and talent development processes
• Drive transformation and B-BBEE initiatives within the department

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build effective relationships across departments and with external stakeholders
• Coordinate with operation managers and suppliers to ensure seamless operations
