Hire Resolve is seeking a skilled and analytical Credit Analyst (Retail) to join a respected retail banking group at their Head Office in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Reporting to the Credit Division, this permanent role supports executive credit committees by assessing finance applications, evaluating residential property valuations, conducting credit risk ratings, and ensuring full compliance with statutory credit regulations.
Credit Vetting & Risk Assessment: Review and analyze finance applications within Senior Management Credit Committee (SMCC) and Management Credit Committee (MCC) mandates, evaluating creditworthiness and compliance with the National Credit Act (NCA) and internal credit policies.
Systems Processing & Rating: Capture, extract, and analyze information on the Credit Lens System and Apply for Finance Platform to determine accurate credit ratings and drive timeous decision-making.
Valuation & Collateral Review: Review residential property valuations and templates to assess collateral adequacy, identifying potential risk areas or administrative issues.
Committee Administration & Reporting: Vett revolving trade and asset facilities, record Executive Credit Committee (ECC) minutes, and prepare quarterly submissions for the Board Credit Committee (BCC).
Audit & Compliance Support: Liaise with internal/external auditors on information requests, maintain audit logs, and compile documentation required for the Financial Sector Charter (FSC) BEE scoring.
Credit Awareness & Training: Conduct regular Credit Awareness Sessions across the branch network to communicate changes in credit policies and regulatory procedures.
Education: Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the banking industry, specifically within credit risk analysis or accounting.
Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience with Credit Lens System, Apply for Finance Platform, and core banking platforms (such as iMal). Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Regulatory Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of the National Credit Act (NCA), Companies Act, credit risk evaluation, and financial statement analysis.
Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal (Head Office).
