Are You Someone Who Can :

  • Unpack and critically think about the risks of new and existing debt and equity deals for clients across a broad range of geographies and industries.
  • Engage with the client,
  • Interrogate a client’s business model and identify risks,
  • Assess financial data provided by the client,
  • Build a financial model to forecast performance or assess a model provided by the client or their advisors for accuracy and appropriateness,
  • Work alongside the deal team to structure a deal in line with the bank’s risk philosophy,
  • Assess and manage overall limits for a client in line with the bank’s risk framework,
  • Present a deal for recommendation after objectively assessing all the facts,
  • Take ownership of the application, requiring strong report writing skills,
  • Manage the timelines of a deal in line with the submission deadline,
  • Present a deal at committee and work with the deal team to address questions, demonstrating strong verbal skills, debating, managing differing views, and influencing negotiations for a good outcome for both the client and the bank,
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders, including working alongside experienced business and risk executives as a bridge,
  • Adapt communication styles to meet different audiences, and
  • Manage conflicts effectively.

You Will Be An Ideal Candidate If You :

  • Are ideally CA (SA) or CFA with relevant credit analyst experience within Investment Banking,
  • Have infrastructure and/or power experience, which will be highly beneficial,
  • Possess a strong work ethic with a self-starter attitude and a keen desire for personal development,
  • Have resilience and openness to feedback,
  • Can handle stress well, including workload management (2 to 3+ deals at a time), quick adaptation to deal changes, prioritization, and open communication about capacity.
