Job description

Land Bank Overview

Land Bank is South Africa’s only specialist agricultural bank, established in 1912. Its primary objective is to serve South African commercial and emerging farmers by providing tailored financial services. These services enable farmers to finance land, equipment, improve assets, and obtain production credit. The bank continually reviews and adapts its offerings to meet the evolving needs of the agricultural sector, especially as the socio-economic landscape changes and new farmers from historically disadvantaged backgrounds enter the industry. Land Bank aims to support these farmers in establishing sustainable agribusinesses across the agricultural value chain, ensuring the sector's vitality and contribution to South Africa's sustainability.

Main Purpose of the Job
  1. Carry out quality credit assessments, present bankable solutions, and manage the credit risk of a client portfolio within the Agri-business value chain in the designated regional office.
  2. Perform comprehensive credit analysis, including financial data collection, trend analysis, peer comparisons, and industry overview, to ensure high-quality credit submissions to Credit Managers and Credit Committees.
  3. Mitigate potential risks by adhering to the approved Credit Policy, norms, and delegated authority levels.
  4. Maintain the portfolio through annual credit reviews, re-advancing production loans, and managing revolving loans within the designated DOP, as required by management.
