Position Overview :

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Credit Analyst to join their Vehicle Finance division. In this role, you will assess the creditworthiness of potential clients within the transportation industry by analysing financial information to determine the risk associated with extending credit. This position requires a strong understanding of financial analysis, bank statement analysis, and credit risk assessment. While knowledge of the transport industry is not mandatory, it would be an advantage.

Responsibilities :

  1. Assist relationship managers by providing initial credit vetting assessments for new applications.
  2. Conduct and compile comprehensive credit risk assessments for potential vehicle finance clients, including analysing bank statements, financial statements, credit bureau reports, client agreements, and other relevant information.
  3. Identify and evaluate potential risks, including market trends, regulatory changes, and operational factors that may impact credit decisions.
  4. Utilise financial ratios, industry benchmarks, and other analytical tools to evaluate financial health and identify areas of concern.
  5. Prepare clear and concise credit proposals and reports outlining applicants' creditworthiness, risk assessment, and recommended credit terms.
  6. Provide timely and accurate information to internal stakeholders regarding credit decisions, risk assessments, and industry-related insights.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, commerce, or a related field.

Minimum Requirements :

  1. High proficiency in Excel is mandatory, including Pivot Tables, Pivot Charts, and Lookups.
  2. Strong understanding of financial analysis, credit risk assessment, and lending principles.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  4. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  5. Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
