We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Courier Operations Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operations of courier services. This role ensures couriers perform tasks effectively, schedules are adhered to, and all deliveries meet company standards for timeliness and quality. The supervisor is also responsible for addressing operational issues and maintaining staff motivation during shifts.
Responsibilities
- Shift Operations Management
- Supervise all courier activities to ensure smooth and timely deliveries.
- Monitor delivery progress via tracking systems and adjust routes or resources as needed.
- Address and resolve operational issues, including delays, route changes, or emergencies.
- Optimize delivery routes to improve efficiency and reduce delivery times.
- Ensure proper vehicle maintenance and safety compliance.
- Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager for timely picking and deliveries.
- Resolve delivery queries and check correct loading of goods.
- Manage truck, driver, and route allocations.
- Schedule and oversee pickups, returns, and re-deliveries, addressing any anomalies promptly.
- Collaborate with Returns/Complaints departments on related operations.
- Team Supervision
- Assign tasks and distribute workload among couriers.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings and provide ongoing support.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Evaluate courier performance and ensure compliance with standards.
- Prepare shift reports and escalate recurring issues.
- Lead team performance evaluations, coaching, and training.
- Manage scheduling, attendance, and personnel issues.
- Report on KPIs and implement process improvements.
- Use technology to monitor and optimize deliveries.
- Communicate operational updates to staff and management.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
- Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate logs of operations.
- Coordinate vehicle and equipment maintenance.
- Compliance and Safety
- Ensure all staff and vehicles meet safety and legal standards.
- Implement safety protocols and enforce compliance.
- Monitor safety conditions and legislative adherence.
- Participate in safety meetings and manage fleet safety.
- Customer Service
- Act as primary contact for customer inquiries and complaints.
