About the job: Counter Sales (External Applications Only)

Assist customers with product inquiries and purchases. Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized sales counter and showroom. Monitor inventory levels and restock merchandise as needed.

Minimum Requirements

1. Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications.
2. 1 year sales experience in a hardware retail, wholesale, or similar environment.
3. 1 year carpentry experience would be advantageous.
4. Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
5. Well-developed problem-solving and analytical skills.
6. Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
7. Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Accurate processing of customer order requests and sales.
• Accurate receipt of payments and related banking processes.
• Provide reliable, prompt customer service.
• Advise customers correctly on products.
• Assist customers with product queries and complaints in a timely manner.
• Be available in the area of responsibility.
• Assist in other departments as required.
• Maintain product knowledge on all products and services offered.
• Assist with packing stock and ensuring stock is merchandised immediately upon receipt.
• Keep sales counters free of stock and presentable.
• Ensure safety (OHSA) compliance, including use of safety gear and safety of customers and employees.
• Merchandise stock safely, ensuring safety for all.
• Be vigilant for suspicious behaviors and report suspicions to management.
• No product to be loaded without proof of purchase or required documentation.
