Qualifications

  • 5+ years of post-study experience in general counselling is required.

  • Experience in psychological first aid, couples counselling, and working with children and teenagers is desirable.

Habit Health is the place for you! Our EAP Services is growing and we are looking for a skilled Counsellor to join our budy team in Wellington CBD where they will work with a variety of clients on maximising their well-being.

EAP Services is a brief intervention service. Our Counsellors work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment on a broad range of mental health matters from couples counselling, addiction, trauma, child and adolescent counselling and dealing with grief - to name a few. You will also have mentoring and supervision responsibilities for more junior Counsellors.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver focused interventions so that clients ace coping mechanisms at work and life
  • Visit worksites to provide support after an event disruption
  • Deliver counselling services via in-person, video and telehealth
  • Deliver training to customer employees

The Ideal Candidate

  • A strong sense of others – we’re looking for sensitivity and empathy as traits
  • Current APC with NZAC, DAPAANZ, SWRB or NZCCA
  • Tertiary level 7 Counselling or related qualification and a minimum of five years of post-study experience in general counselling is required.
  • Preference given to applicants who bring strong cultural and equity clinical practice
  • Experience in the following areas is desirable: psychological first aid, couples counselling and working with children and teenagers.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapy models e.g. SFT, CBT, FACT is desirable
  • Can work independently and attend on-sites for psychological first aid.
