Rheinmetall Denel Munition (RF) (Pty) Ltd in Somerset West, Cape Town, is seeking a Cost & Management Accountant to manage the product costing function.
The role involves supporting the finance department's objectives of sound internal controls, compliance with policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure accurate manufacturing costing, including review of Bill of Materials and input to monthly costing. Report stock levels accurately, including quantities, costs, and valuation. Prepare monthly financial reports, including product cost deviations, material usage, inventory balances, and key performance indicators. Contribute to financial reporting and month-end processes such as journals and reconciliations. Provide ERP system training and support across all sites. Ensure ERP data accuracy and investigate issues. Identify inventory-related risks with potential financial implications, including provisions and write-offs. Assist with cycle and full stock counts. Monitor production work order deviations and rescheduling. Maintain material master data, including account allocations. Support departments like Planning, Operations, and Logistics, especially Materials Requirement Planning. Recommend procedures to strengthen financial controls. Liaise with internal and external auditors. Assist with budgeting and forecasting, including tariff and activity rate calculations. Provide input on stock and material usage for forecasts and budgets. Oversee site compliance with month-end and year-end procedures. Represent finance on procurement committees. Handle ad hoc information requests. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting (NQF 6+) or equivalent. At least 5 years of financial experience in manufacturing. Proficient in Excel and familiar with ERP systems, preferably SAP S / 4 Hana. Knowledge of accounting standards. Ability to apply skills across costing, accounting, and asset management. Independent, able to work under pressure, and adaptable. Strong understanding of financial and controlling principles. Effective communicator in technical settings.
