Job description

PLEASE NOTE : This position is in Mandeni north of Stanger.

Purpose of the role :

To provide costing and financial services to the company by performing core tasks such as management accounting, capital expenditure evaluations, monthly management account reporting, process audits, and assisting in budget, forecasting, and other ad hoc costing queries or projects requested by management and other service departments.

Job Description :

Manufacturing Accounting Services

  • Prepare manufacturing journals
  • Handle recoveries, finished goods, and raw material journals
  • Investigate and analyze material usage variances and implement necessary controls
  • Reconcile and balance the general ledger with inventory stock reports at month-end and manage inventory adjustments
  • Report on variances between departmental expenditures and recoveries

Capital Expenditure evaluations

  • Assist departments, primarily production, with capital expenditure evaluations considering payback periods and discounted cash flows
  • Support decision-making on project viability and identify variables affecting project success

Budgets and other costing queries

  • Assist managers with resolving product costing queries
  • Review cost-benefit analysis of overtime against recovery, conduct adhoc feasibility studies, and perform other duties as assigned by the financial manager
  • Assist in budget preparation

Standards, Procedures, and Administration

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Present all administration and documentation neatly and professionally

Quality

  • Understand and apply relevant policies and procedures set out in the QMS as appropriate

Safety, Health, Environment, and Housekeeping

  • Adhere to all company safety policies and OHS Act
  • Maintain a tidy and organized work environment, including equipment and furniture

Budgets

  • Understand departmental budgets and practice cost control measures

Reporting

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting aligned with key performance areas (KPAs)

Authority

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements
