Are you an experienced Cost Estimator with a sharp eye for accuracy and a strong understanding of custom manufacturing processes?

Requirements:

  • Matric, or similar qualification
  • Proven experience as an estimator in a manufacturing industry
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Understanding of materials, production methods, and installation processes
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with estimating software is a plus
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyse project drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates
  • Liaise with suppliers for up-to-date pricing on raw materials, equipment, and outsourced services
  • Prepare and submit quotations in a timely and professional manner
  • Collaborate with sales and project managers to understand client requirements and ensure alignment on pricing strategies
  • Monitor and update cost databases and estimation tools
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
  • Assist with tenders and RFQs, ensuring all documentation is completed and submitted correctly
  • Track project costs post-approval to ensure profitability and identify discrepancies
