This is a challenging role where you will be involved in producing cost estimations, considering the production cost requirements, all related costs, and margins.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for producing cost estimations, considering the production cost requirements, all related costs, and margins.
- Generating final and complete quotations/tenders for presentation to clients.
- In-depth understanding of all cost items and variables influencing pricing.
- Review and report on project costs variances and improve costing models.
- Oversee and update the cost estimation processes and procedures, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and timeliness.
- Develop relationships with vendors and contractors, negotiate costs, and manage tenders.
- Use tendering data for detailed cost analysis and present estimates to management and stakeholders.
- Record actual costs versus tendered prices and compile cost reports.
- Train and upskill team members as required.
Project Management & Planning
- Determine cost items and variables influencing pricing.
- Review rental costs and implement savings strategies.
- Analyze project documents to understand project scope.
- Manage precast and ready-shape departments.
- Oversee project close-outs and meetings.
Customer & Quality
- Achieve customer satisfaction by executing cost estimation activities accurately and timely.
- Meet all HSEQ SOPs for the area.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a cost accountant, analyst, or similar role.
- Minimum qualified AAT or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA; ideally CIMA Finalist.
- Understanding of industrial processes, costing principles, and accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS).
- Strong IT skills, especially in Excel, Google Suite, and financial software like IFS/SAP.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
