Job description

Non-negotiable qualifications and experience required :

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in cost engineering, cost control, or project controls, ideally within the industrial or petrochemical sector.

Strong knowledge of cost management software and tools (e.g., SAP, Primavera, CostX) and proficiency with Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Location Requirement :

Candidates should either be South African residents currently living in the Netherlands or South Africans willing to relocate to the Netherlands.

Beneficial requirements :

Familiarity with industry-standard cost estimating methodologies and best practices.

Proven ability to interpret and analyze complex technical data, contracts, and project documentation.

Duties and responsibilities :

Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, ensuring that project costs remain within approved budgets.

Prepare detailed cost estimates for various project stages, from initial conceptual design through to final construction and commissioning.

Work closely with project management, procurement, and engineering teams to forecast costs accurately and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.

Perform regular cost variance analyses, report deviations from the budget, and recommend corrective actions.

Track project expenditures and resource allocations, ensuring all financial transactions align with project scope and budget.
