Role Overview

The Cost Controller will oversee cost management activities to support financial performance, ensure compliance, and contribute to strategic decision-making. This includes analysing actual costs vs budgets, reporting variances, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and collaborating with procurement, operations, and finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse actual costs against budgets and forecasts
  • Track and report cost variances, providing clear financial insights
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with department heads
  • Implement and maintain cost control processes and reports
  • Support process optimisation and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Ensure accurate financial documentation and audit trails
  • Align with teams on cost objectives and controls
  • Provide guidance on cost control systems and tools
  • Uphold all QHSE and compliance standards

Requirements

  • Matric (essential)
  • Road transport or related qualification (advantageous)
  • 3–5 years of experience in a cost control role within cross-border logistics
  • Solid understanding of transport and logistics (local and cross-border)
  • Computer literate with strong reporting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
