Job summary

Norman Goodfellows in Gauteng, Sandton area, seeks a proactive finance professional to manage daily accounting tasks, cost control, and system improvements within a fast-paced retail and distribution environment.

You will work closely with the Financial Accountant and Financial Manager to ensure accurate expense processing, budgeting, and insightful cost reporting, while building vendor relationships and driving efficiencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or similar.
• Experience in a finance team is advantageous.
• Advanced Excel skills required.
• ERP accounting systems experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process and correctly allocate expense transactions.
• Collaborate with Financial Accountant and Financial Manager for cost analysis.
• Maintain vendor relationships and implement procurement processes.
• Develop cost saving programs and timelines.
• Partner with Senior Management with analytical support.
• Prepare budgets and cost reports.

This role, reporting into the Financial Accountant offers the opportunity to be part of a high performing finance and accounting team within a fast paced Retail and Distribution organisation.

Responsibilities

• Process and correctly allocate expense transactions
• Work in conjunction with Financial Accountant and Financial Manager to critical assess costs against budgets, design and generate monthly expense reports to enable a better understanding of variances to budget or vs. agreed standards.
• Maintain vendor and service provider relationships and implement 3 quote procurement process for expenses.
• Develop and implement proactive cost saving programs, timelines and objectives.
• Act as a business partner to Senior Management, educating and persuading them on cost imperatives and providing analytical support where necessary.
• Prepare optimized business cost budgets annually

• Excellent organisational skills with an aptitude for synthesize large volumes of data for interpretation.
