Job summary

Network Finance is seeking a Cost & Management Accountant to join our client's finance team in Pretoria. This role focuses on costing, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and operational decision-making to drive profitability.

You will develop costing models, monitor variances, support pricing reviews, and provide dashboards for senior management, working closely with production, procurement, sales and operations to improve efficiency and margins.

Qualifications

• Must have a BCom in Cost & Management Accounting or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience in costing/management accounting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting reports.
• Develop and maintain product costing models.
• Analyse raw material, labour, overhead, and production costs.
• Monitor manufacturing variances and investigate discrepancies.
• Perform gross profit and margin analyses.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow projections.
• Provide variance analysis and performance insights to management.
• Support pricing decisions and profitability reviews.
• Prepare financial and operational dashboards.
• Support month-end and year-end reporting processes.

Our client is seeking a Cost & Management Accountant to join their finance team. This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys working closely with operations, analysing costs, and transforming financial information into meaningful business insights.

The successful candidate will play a key role in costing, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and operational decision-making. This position provides the opportunity to work closely with senior management while supporting the continued growth and success of a manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting reports
• Develop and maintain product costing models
• Analyse raw material, labour, overhead, and production costs
• Monitor manufacturing variances and investigate discrepancies
• Perform gross profit and margin analysis
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow projections
• Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysis
• Support pricing decisions and profitability reviews
• Analyse inventory, work-in-progress, and finished goods
• Assist with stock valuations and stock reconciliations
• Prepare financial and operational dashboards
• Support month-end and year-end reporting processes
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
• Work closely with production, procurement, sales, and management teams
• Assist with ad hoc financial modelling and business analysis

Job Experience and Skills Required

Education

• BCom Degree in Cost & Management Accounting, Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years' relevant accounting experience
• Experience in product costing and management accounting
• Strong financial analysis experience
• Experience preparing management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
• Manufacturing industry experience advantageous
