Sappi Papier Holding is seeking a Cost Analyst to prepare accurate cost reports, analyse production and operating costs, and provide management with information to guide financial and operational decisions.

The role involves maintaining product costing data in SAP, supporting month-end close, and collaborating with Production, Logistics and Technical teams to resolve reporting queries. A BCom or Diploma in Accounting and 3+ years in manufacturing accounting are required.

Qualifikationen

• Requires a BCom degree or National Diploma in Accounting.
• At least three years’ accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel; SAP experience is an advantage.

Aufgaben

• Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly production and cost reports.
• Check production, material usage and stock data for accuracy; follow up differences with relevant teams.
• Complete routine reconciliations, including fibre balances, additive usage and work in progress.
• Maintain product costing information, including material consumption and cost allocations in SAP.
• Assist with month end close by ensuring all costs are recorded and allocated correctly.
• Support product costing by maintaining material usage and production data, and investigate cost variances with Cost Accountant.
• Monitor fixed costs against budget and explain variances to management.
• Assist in forecasting and annual budgeting processes.
• Collaborate with Production, Logistics and Technical teams to gather information and resolve queries.
• Carry out ad hoc cost analyses and maintain clear records.
• Adhere to mill safety, health, environmental and quality requirements.

We’re on the lookout for a Cost Analyst to prepare accurate cost reports, analyse production and operating costs, monitor cost performance, and provide management with information to guide financial and operational decisions.

As a Cost Analyst, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing and distributing weekly and monthly production and cost reports.
• Checking production, material usage and stock data for accuracy, and follow up on differences with the relevant teams.
• Completing routine reconciliations, including fibre balances, additive usage and work in progress.
• Helping to maintain product costing information, including material consumption and cost allocations in SAP.
• Assisting with month end close by checking that all costs are recorded and allocated correctly.
• Supporting product costing by maintaining accurate material usage and production data, checking standard costs, and investigating differences between budgeted and actual costs with the Cost Accountant.
• Monitoring fixed costs against budget, investigate significant variances and prepare clear explanations for management.
• Assisting in the preparation of forecasts and annual budgets.
• Working with Production, Logistics and Technical teams to gather information and resolve reporting queries.
• Carrying out ad hoc cost analysis and maintain clear, organised records.
• Following the mill’s safety, health, environmental and quality requirements.

What are we looking for?
