Job summary

Chainlink Recruitment in Johannesburg seeks an experienced Inventory Costing Specialist to optimise landed costs, stock control and costing inside SYSPRO.

You will lead cycle counts, variance analysis, and SOP development, while partnering with shop floor and senior management to drive KPI visibility and continuous improvement.

This full-time role offers production support exposure and will liaise with auditors in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Import & Landed Costing — Calculate and process landed costs (freight, duties, forex, clearing) in SYSPRO
• Inventory Valuation — Perform month-end inventory valuation, variance analysis, and reconciliations
• Factory Reporting — Prepare monthly factory production reports for management
• Stock Control — Manage cycle counts, stock takes, bin accuracy, and obsolescence provisions
• Team Leadership — Lead and review the work of 3 cycle counters; ensure accuracy and coverage targets
• Variance Resolution — Investigate and resolve cost and inventory variances under tight deadlines
• Margin Analysis — Prepare GP/margin analysis by product/SKU
• Process Improvement — Identify weaknesses in inventory movement processes and drive improvements
• SOP Development — Develop and document SOPs for costing, stock control, and inventory movement
• Production Support — Support production teams with cost visibility and inventory KPIs
• Cross‑Functional Liaison — Engage daily with staff from shop floor to senior management
• Audit Support — Assist with year‑end stock audits and liaise with auditors
• SYSPRO Optimisation — Continuously improve costing and inventory processes within SYSPRO
