Cost Accountant

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Determine and calculate overhead and labour costs
2. Analyse production and operational costs
3. Responsible for the budgets (expense and capex) for the factory
4. Responsible for the investment proposals for the factory
5. Prepare monthly management accounts and reports
6. Analyse and report on daily sales and profit margins
7. Calculate and update standard costs as required
8. Calculate costing for new products
9. Determine the selling price of products to head office
10. Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
11. Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions
12. Ensure BOMs and routings are correct
13. Ensure that WIP is accurate

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant or Cost Analyst
• Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and IFRS
• Manufacturing experience is essential
• Experience with accounting software such as Sage X3 and CaseWare
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Excellent analytical skills
• Integrity and ability to handle confidential information
• Ability to read drawings
• BCom in Management Accounting or CIMA Management level
