Cost Accountant

We are looking to appoint a Cost Accountant with excellent organisational and analytical skills.

Main Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organisation.
2. Analyse and recommend product costs and cost savings.
3. Prepare and complete internal cost audits.
4. Analyse the data collected and log a detailed record of the results.
5. Analyse any changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost.
6. Analyse manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
7. Make estimates of new and proposed product costs.
8. Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services.
9. Maintain product and formulation master data.
10. Consolidate sales forecasts from different business units.
11. Incorporate sales forecasts into production plan to determine raw material demands.
12. Measure and report on actual sales and production figures compared to forecasts and revise production plans.
13. Communicate any discrepancies between forecasts and actuals with relevant parts of the business to take necessary action.

Minimum Requirements

1. BCom Finance degree, Honours will be an advantage
2. Minimum 2 years' experience as a Cost Accountant
3. Computer literate (Excel - Advanced)
