Job description

Cost Accountant

Leading and well-established paper and plastics manufacturing company based on the East Rand is looking for a Cost Accountant.

Qualifications:
  • CIMA qualification is required or current studies towards CIMA are essential.
  • Matric / Grade 12 – with Mathematics / Accounting.
  • BCom in Accounting or a related field.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years costing experience in a Production or Manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the business with value-added analysis including costing, GP analysis, stock control, and Opex analysis.
  • Calculate the cost price of manufacturing raw materials, Labour, and overheads allocation.
  • Provide support to Ops team for daily cyclical counts and month-end stock counts.
  • Report on stock take results to Ops and Finance Managers and assist with analysis of stock variances.
  • Identify paper stock at risk of obsolescence for production planning.
  • Weekly flag FGS at risk of obsolescence to sales staff for customer delivery.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of Opex spend and consumable usage to identify issues.
  • Review actuals vs budget with detailed variance analysis.
  • Assist with recording waste percentages and interventions to reduce waste.
  • Manage daily costing requests.
Remuneration:

Monthly salary plus benefits including medical aid, provident fund, and 13th cheque.
