Job description

The purpose of the Cost Accountant role is to manage the full stock control function and operational efficiencies to mitigate stock losses in collaboration with relevant site HODs.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Provide cost management services to the management team, including deviation reporting and waste elimination opportunities.
  2. Determine and manage cost accounting procedures to accurately account for costs per product.
  3. Perform stock reconciliation, reporting, and investigation of variances to initiate corrective actions daily.
  4. Ensure accurate recording and reporting of stock information through financial journals and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  5. Check adherence to and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures related to stock control across all site and route locations in collaboration with stakeholders.
  6. Assist in preparing annual budgets with the Site Accountant/Bakery Manager.
  7. Guide and advise Sales Managers on route viability and cost-to-serve calculations on an ad hoc basis.
  8. Handle month-end processing and closure of depot financials.
  9. Participate in budgeting and forecasting of depot financials.
  10. Analyze expenses, review variances against budgets, and provide recommendations.
  11. Maintain depot balancing and full financial reporting.
  12. Supervise the Depot Admin team and control depot stock.
  13. Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures at the Depot.
