To help us achieve this, we are seeking a highly motivated Strategic Projects Manager to join our Strategy department. As Corporate Strategy Manager, you will play a critical role in driving the company's success by ensuring effective cross-functional project delivery; incepting and deepening revenue growth opportunities; and maintaining company-wide alignment to the company's strategic objectives.
You will be expected to maintain a holistic view of our client's operations and identify, evaluate and implement industry disruptive ideas to revolutionize the Southern African energy landscape. This position reports directly to the company's Chief of Staff and Director of Strategy and Emerging Business.
The candidate should have exceptional organizational skills, in-depth strategy and business knowledge (start-up and/or consulting experience preferred), and outstanding interpersonal skills.
The Corporate Strategy Manager is required to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing deadlines and will work across all areas of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Assist the Strategy and Emerging Business department in crafting corporate and (cross-) departmental strategies that accelerate growth, disrupt the solar energy market, and deliver long-term value. Assist with monitoring and tracking the progress of the company's overarching strategy, establishing and implementing KPIs to ensure alignment with our client's strategic direction. Establish and implement end-to-end business processes, criteria and KPIs to drive innovative and agile operating models, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
- Strategic Growth and Market Expansion: Conduct thorough planning and strategies to identify growth and strategic optimization opportunities and make informed recommendations to key stakeholders, leveraging insights into the local, regional and international solar energy markets. Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and prioritize strategic projects that align with the company's mission to expand energy solutions. Conduct in-depth analysis of emerging markets to identify opportunities for solar energy adoption and infrastructure development. Act as a point of contact for internal and external partners to drive success with strategic projects.
- Project Leadership and Management: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of key projects across various markets, with a focus on both developed and high-growth markets. Independently oversee end-to-end strategic project lifecycles, including defining project scopes, deliverables, timelines, resource allocation and budgets.
Requirements:
- A postgraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or an MBA or equivalent qualification.
- 4+ years of experience in project management, strategic planning, strategy formulation, and driving business performance. This should include a minimum of 2+ years in a Management role, with a preference for experience in consulting and/or startup environments.
- Proficiency in leading strategy frameworks or methods, coupled with hands-on experience in developing or implementing projects using these frameworks.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and a deep understanding of business development and growth strategies.
- Proven ability to cultivate strong stakeholder relationships, effectively managing key internal and external interactions to ensure the delivery of quality and value.
- Exceptional critical thinking abilities focused on solution development, constructing logical arguments or analyses, synthesizing complex information, and proactively identifying or anticipating risks and challenges.
- A relentless drive for results, coupled with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with numerous competing deadlines.
