Job description

  • Risk based-Intelligence-Led Security programs deployment is demonstrated across Africa Middle East (AME) to maximize the impact of security programs
  • Lead AME security program delivery to ensure maximum contribution to AME Business Units (e.g. Crop Protection, Seeds, etc.) by delivering security program solution deployment generating the proper risk ownership from AME Leadership Team (LT).
  • Be proactive and a catalyst for new and innovative thinking around Security within Syngenta.
  • Leverage at the right level cross-functional collaboration (Legal, Supply, Procurement, Corporate Affairs, Facilities Management) to deliver more Security results.
  • Educate, influence, and support stakeholder at all levels covering all security matters above
  • Lead external security networking activities with industry associations, government agencies, and security networks
  • Ensure consistent deployment of security programs (people & asset protection, insider threat, and anti-illicit trade) and processes (internal & external stakeholder management, intelligence & investigations) across AME to produce a tangible risk reduction
  • Measure, monitor, and report the effectiveness of Security programs & processes performance to AME and Corporate Security leadership
  • Lead critical investigations in AME including asset, people, information, and product-related issues and support to the compliance department
  • Support critical intelligence dissemination in AME aiming to anticipate threats related to activism, geopolitics, among others
  • Support Legal IP professionals in building intelligence, steer and supervise investigations aiming to develop evidence to be used in critical IP and TM litigations
  • Support Post Patent Teams in shaping legal and regulatory actions, including the selection of targets and process to obtain evidence to be used in court

Accountabilities

  • Lead Anti-licit Trade program management and specific deployment for AME with the following focus :

ensure that internal / external communication / awareness / collaboration is at the right performance level

  • support the business to improve product protection
  • maximize intelligence to generate a more significant impact (big fish)
  • support program governance (CoP, Processes, and Tools), ensure continuous improvement
  • work closely with project sponsors, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives on post-patent implicating security matters
  • report program performance to key stakeholders and address improvements / gaps
  • Manage AME insider threat program management with the following focus :

detect insider threat activities against critical information assets

  • investigate detected case in collaboration with compliance
  • Manage AME People and Site security programs with the subsequent focus :

anticipate threats / support intel dissemination, manage risks / address security improvement plans and act in critical incidents and steer complex investigations

  • make sustainable security awareness to protect Syngenta people
  • enable the business to own and drive their site security improvement
  • Manage facts gathering Security investigation processes for all security issues
  • Cooperate and coordinate with Legal and the business, actions with authorities (i.e. custom, police, etc.) for all matter related to Anti-Illicit Trade to deliver successful cases in AME
  • Represent or ensure Syngenta is represented in all Anti-Illicit Trade networking activities in AME for CP / Seeds aiming at improving legislation and exchanging information and best practices

Qualifications

Knowledge, Experience & Capabilities

  • National Diploma / bachelor’s degree in security management / policing or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working as part of a Corporate Security / Security position
  • Experience in engagement with multiple management levels across technical users and business units
  • Experience in creating / maintaining as-built documentation owned jointly across a team
  • As a plus, 5 years' experience working for authorities in the field of Intelligence Management
  • As a plus, an existing network of private or public sector Intelligence Professionals
  • Ability to work well and deliver under pressure
  • Excellence in planning and execution
  • Results orientated
  • Excellent English communication skills both verbally and in writing
