Job summary

Communicate Finance is seeking an accomplished Senior Financial Reporting lead in South Africa to drive monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. You will oversee IFRS 17 reporting, GL integrations, and statutory disclosures, coordinating with Regulatory teams to ensure compliance and with actuarial and risk teams to challenge outputs.

The role requires a CA(SA) or equivalent, 6–10 years' experience in insurance-related financial reporting, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• CA(SA)/ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• 6-10 years' experience in financial reporting within insurance or reinsurance.
• Strong IFRS 17 and regulatory reporting experience.
• Leadership experience preferred; data automation advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
• Oversee IFRS 17 reporting, reconciliations, and General Ledger integration.
• Prepare and review financial statements, disclosures, and management reports.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
• Partner with Finance, Actuarial, Investments, and Risk teams to analyse and challenge reporting outputs.
• Review investment reporting and assess the impact of market movements on financial performance.
• Drive process improvement, automation, and reporting efficiency.
• Lead and develop finance reporting team members.
