Position Summary:
The NRF Corporate Office based in Pretoria seeks to make an appointment for the position of Corporate Accountant. Reporting to the Manager: Financial Reporting, the incumbent will support an effective financial and management accounting service to the organisation through the provision of accurate, complete and reliable accounting services and to provide support and advisory on financial matters to the finance teams across the NRF.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete statutory reports, including SARB, the DSTI and National Treasury.
- Provide support services to business units of the NRF and ensure compliance to GRAP, PFMA, Treasury Regulations and Financial Policies and Procedures.
- Stay up to date with financial regulations and best practice, and ensure the organisation meets all statutory obligations.
- Support the finance team in preparing, consolidating and reviewing budgets and forecasts across the business units.
- Ensure accurate and timely consolidation of financial data from various business units.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets, identify variances and follow through.
- Compile schedules and reconciliations for the annual financial statements in line with policies and procedures.
- Assist Manager with managing and coordinating internal and external audits.
- Annual assets register review and follow through.
- Analyse lease agreements and prepare finance/operating lease reconciliations quarterly.
- Coordinate the review and update of financial policies and standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate training interventions to finance staff across the organisation.
- Develop and maintain financial reports using the financial report writer in D365 F&O.
- Train users in the design of financial reports in the financial report writer in D365 F&O.
- Advanced data extracts from D365 F&O for interrogation or audit purposes.
Minimum Qualification:- Bachelors Degree / Advanced Diploma / NQF 7
Minimum Experience:- 3-5 years relevant work experience in financial reporting and accounting processes within a public sector environment.
- Degree in Accounting (NQF 7).
- Membership of an Accounting Professional Body will be advantageous.
Experience:- Solution orientation with sound judgment.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Excellent computer literacy skills.
- Proficiency in the use of the full Microsoft Office suite of applications.
- Working exposure to Microsoft D365 F&O will be advantageous.
Knowledge:- Knowledge of public sector legislation and regulations, including Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP), Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and National Treasury Regulations.

Additional Notes:Work environment: The incumbent will operate within a dynamic and pressurised environment seeking quick turn-around times driven by deadlines while engaging with operational units on a decentralised model, where some travel may be required.
