Senwes is seeking the services of a Corporate Accountant who will be responsible for corporate financial reporting, monitoring of the control environment, and financial maintenance and reporting in IT processes. The role also includes executing and maintaining service level agreements and administration with IT clients.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Gather historic financial information, apply expected financial and economic indicators on historical and new information.
- Incorporate all changes to current business model and structure.
- Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for management.
- Test expenditure against policy and budget.
- Analyze and recommend savings in expenditures and report variances.
Financial and Operational Reporting/Authorization
- Scrutinize financial entries on SAP per cost centre.
- Process payments to external vendors, ensuring correctness (VAT, calculations, within budget).
- Clear balance sheet accounts and internal vendors/customers.
- Compile business cases or EVA calculations for relevant project costs or CAPEX expenditure.
- Process month-end journals.
- Generate financial reports on SAP and distribute to relevant stakeholders.
- Compile monthly FD report for EXCO decision-making.
- Handle SLA billing and other month-end billings.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Compile tax pack and distribute to Group Tax Accountant.
- Compile audit committee reports.
- Assist in integrated report duties.
- Process bi-annual and annual journals.
Corporate Control
- Test and prepare transactions against policies and budgets.
- Conduct monthly audits of journals, payments, contracts, tenders, and reconciliations.
- Identify deviations from policies and procedures and propose solutions to improve controls.
- Test accuracy, classification, and existence of transactions.
- Ensure proper reconciliation and review of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Authorize vendor payments.
- Manage balance sheet items and ratios.
- Test the accounting treatment of new business processes.
- Prepare cash flow projections for treasury.
- Advise and coach managers on control improvements.
- Manage all sundry accounts.
- Ensure business cases are in place for relevant projects.
- Evaluate financial performance of projects against business cases.
Administration of Fixed Assets
- Handle acquisitions and disposals of assets.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS (IAS16).
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
- Conduct depreciation runs.
- Coordinate asset counts.
- Compile annual CAPEX budgets and reports.
- Prepare PPE notes for audits, tax packs, and financial statements.
- Post-implementation evaluation of projects’ financial performance.
Continuous Process Improvements
- Continuously evaluate asset accounting processes for improvements.
- Propose and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Explore automation opportunities in asset accounting.
- Implement automation solutions to streamline tasks and reduce errors.
