Job description

The Hogan Developer is responsible for the development, configuration, maintenance, and support of applications within the Hogan Core Banking System. The role focuses on delivering stable, efficient, and secure banking solutions that support business operations and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and maintain Hogan core banking modules in line with business requirements
• Analyze functional specifications and translate them into technical solutions
• Perform application enhancements, bug fixes, and system upgrades within the Hogan environment
• Develop and maintain programs using Hogan tools and languages (e.g. HOGAN IDS, COBOL, JCL)
• Conduct unit testing and support system, integration, and user acceptance testing
• Investigate and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal system downtime
• Collaborate with business analysts, testers, infrastructure teams, and other developers
• Ensure solutions comply with internal governance, security standards, and regulatory requirements
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
• Provide input into system improvements, performance optimization, and stability initiatives

Required Skills and Competencies

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with Hogan Core Banking Systems (e.g. Core, DDA, Loans, Deposits, Payments)
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and batch processing
• Experience with IDS, screen development, and report handling
• Understanding of mainframe environments (IBM z/OS)
• Familiarity with database concepts and file structures used in Hogan
• Knowledge of system integration and upstream/downstream banking systems
