Opportunity for Qualified Cold Larder Cooks at Newcastle Private Hospital

An opportunity exists for qualified Cold Larder Cooks to join our well-established and reputable Catering Department at Newcastle Private Hospital on a casual basis.

Your role as a Cook will contribute to enhancing our patients' experience by providing exceptional meals during their stay.

We offer a supportive work environment, work-life balance, and no late nights!

The successful applicants must be available for various shifts across a 7-day week and have prior experience in healthcare, aged care food services, or high-volume hotel environments.

About Us

Join our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses, and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital, an 11-theatre, 189-bed acute private hospital located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park.

We provide specialty care for individuals and their families or carers, offering treatment and care across our day and inpatient facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Food preparation
  • Preparing meals for patients with dietary restrictions, allergens, and texture modifications
  • Ordering food supplies
  • Supervising kitchen staff
  • Delivering excellent customer service to staff, clients, and patients
  • Maintaining food safety standards
Selection Criteria
  • Qualification as a Chef from a recognized training provider
  • Previous experience in a hospital, aged care, or healthcare environment
  • Certificate in Safe Food Handling
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
