Job Description
- Improve Assembly and Machining equipment uptime using data analysis and preventative maintenance planning.
- Develop and implement short-term, medium-term, and long-term improvement plans for automated systems.
- Take responsibility for investigating and introducing new engineering technologies and strategies.
- Undertake root cause analysis and ensure Permanent Corrective Actions (PCA’s) are implemented.
- Achieve SQDCPME KPIs.
- Demonstrate One Ford Behaviors.
- Lead a motivated team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of ISO 9000 / ISO 14000 / TS 16949 standards.
- Initiate measures to improve equipment performance, methods, and quality.
- Manage all software and hardware on continuous process equipment, ensuring minimal downtime, proper documentation, and software version control.
- Program and design using PLCs, HMI, and SCADA; oversee commissioning and installation of equipment.
- Create, modify, and revise automation controls instructions and process flow documentation.
- Possess automotive assembly and machining process knowledge and experience.
- Read blueprints, AutoCAD, E-Plan, and interpret electrical schematics.
- Be Six Sigma certified or trained.
- Develop training plans for plant technicians, electricians, and controls team.
- Ensure plant machinery backups and images are up-to-date; maintain copies on Octoplant.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
- 3-5 years of PLC experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years within the automotive industry.
- Experience with Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7, IndraWorks Engineering, Schneider, Festo.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Experience with ABB Robot systems and Festo Robot System.
- Experience with CNC machines equipped with Siemens and Bosch controls.
