Job summary

DP World Durban is seeking a logistics planning professional to coordinate and control the quality of work activities for a load plan, ensuring cost-effective, on-time and in-full client deliveries.

You will oversee orders, route planning, and staffing to meet schedules, while coordinating with drivers and warehouses. The role requires up to 5 years in a similar environment with at least 2 years of tactical leadership or specialist experience.

Job description

Job Context

To coordinate and control the quality of the work activities of a team that executes a load plan for the cost effective, on-time and in-full delivery of client loads, contributing to managerial decision-making.

Key Performance Areas:

• Management of outstanding orders
• To run an outstanding order list and ensure all orders are in the right NDD
• Move orders that are sitting on route zero/and ensure it gets emailed after baying is completed.
• Based on the route plan if there are any second trips to be done and planned according to vehicle availability /planning backhauls for MU loads and to ensure DC are planned according to their booking times.
• Planning the devices for drivers to exit the premises and to execute the deliveries as per trip planned.
• To ensure that all staff are present at work daily and plan replacement for short fall due to sick /absent etc.
• Planning vehicles to ensure the correct loads planned for vehicles based on tons and cubes.
• Ensure correct staff is planned per vehicle which is driver and crew.
• Based on the SOP the route planning must be done by the process of allocating it for NDD and send it to LLP/Resolve for planning.
• Do final import of the planning file to Proteus so that the bay plan can be given to warehouse for picking.
• Manage country deliveries according to Main Collective Agreement requirements.
• To ensure that efficient and effective loading of vehicles
• Supervise the loading and palletizing of loads going out according to customer specifications. Heavy products are not loaded on light products; principals are not mixed when loaded (to ensure better efficiency)
• Ensure all vehicles are loaded with Trollies on the vehicles
• Overseeing and control of shrink wrap
• Manage device usage/ mobility
• Completion of all planning / distribution reports
• Compile and complete NCR’s and RCA’s
• HSE audits and inspections
• Disciplinary process

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's or equivalent 3-year degree (NQF Level 7)

Experience and Skills Required:

• Up to 5 years of experience in a similar environment with at least 2 years tacticalleadership or specialist experience
