Job summary

SavageOne Pty Ltd in Johannesburg seeks a seasoned Control & Instrumentation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain advanced automation systems across mining, energy, manufacturing, or water sectors.

You will work with PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and HMI, develop control philosophies, interpret P&IDs, and lead commissioning for capital projects while ensuring IEC, ISO, and SANS compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Instrumentation Engineering
• 3-6 years of relevant experience in control and instrumentation
• Experience with PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols
• Familiarity with hazardous area equipment and SIL‑compliant systems
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
• Experience with industrial cybersecurity, remote diagnostics, and predictive maintenance tools
• Certifications or training with major automation platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Honeywell)
• Strong communication and coordination skills across teams

Responsibilities
