An exciting opportunity exists for a Control Engineer to join a leading manufacturing organization based in Pietermaritzburg. The ideal candidate will be a solutions-driven professional with a strong technical background and a passion for optimizing complex industrial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, focusing on quality, throughput, equipment availability, and safety.
Lead fault-finding efforts, conduct root cause analyses, and develop optimal solutions for complex process-related issues.
Understand, maintain, and optimize advanced process control systems.
Implement and manage preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
Execute and oversee specialized engineering projects.
Utilize modern IT tools to analyze, plan, and optimize manufacturing operations.
Minimum Requirements:
BSc or BEng in Electrical, Electronic, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a heavy process manufacturing environment.
Proficient in working with advanced control systems and real-time controllers such as PLC/DCS.
Strong computer literacy with experience in development/application tools and statistical process control.
Experience with system integration across various control platforms.
Knowledge of industrial data storage, server management, and structured programming languages (e.g., C) is advantageous.
Ability to remain adaptable and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive, analytical, and hands-on approach, with strong collaboration skills within a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
