Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Control and Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer to join their team of automation specialists.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on professional with a solid background in industrial automation to contribute to cutting-edge projects across various industrial sectors, including mining, energy, water, and manufacturing. As a C&I Engineer, you will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from system design and software development to on-site commissioning and support.
The role offers a balance of office-based engineering and field-based commissioning activities, both nationally and internationally.
Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and implement industrial control systems using Siemens, Rockwell, and Schneider Electric platforms
- Develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications based on client and project specifications
- Specify and design control panels (hardware and software) and instrumentation systems
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
- Integrate field devices (sensors, actuators, VSDs, etc.) with control systems
- Define control philosophies and develop Functional Design Specifications (FDS) in collaboration with clients
- Generate detailed documentation including control system architecture, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, and operation/user manuals
- Provide on-site commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical support
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations (IEC, ISO, etc.) and safety protocols
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams (electrical, mechanical, IT) and subcontractors
- Support project estimation, costing, and resource planning
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical & Electronics, Mechatronics, or Control Engineering
- 3-5 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems
- Hands-on experience with Siemens (S7, TIA Portal, WinCC), Rockwell Automation (ControlLogix, FactoryTalk), Schneider Electric (Modicon, EcoStruxure)
- Proficiency in industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP)
- Familiarity with process instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature, level sensors, etc.)
- Panel design and wiring schematic experience in line with electrical standards
Desirable Skills:
- Industry experience in Mining, Water, Food & Beverage, Manufacturing, or Energy
- Knowledge of Functional Safety (SIL ratings, safety PLCs)
- Eplan design software experience
- Ability to interpret P&IDs and instrumentation datasheets
- Exposure to version control systems and technical documentation platforms
- Basic understanding of industrial networking and cybersecurity
- Project management or site supervision experience
