Qualifications and Experience :
Grade 12
Minimum 5 years experience as a Site Manager or Contracts Manager
Previous sales experience required
Key Responsibilities :
- This position is responsible for the safe, effective, and profitable management of projects.
- Strive for zero harm daily.
- Conduct site visits, propose technical solutions, and submit quotations.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budgeted gross profit percentages.
- Coordinate proper handovers of jobs with the Supervisor / Site Manager.
- Manage site managers, supervisors, drivers, and site staff daily.
- Plan and allocate resources and equipment for jobs.
- Control overtime and manage wage percentages.
- Establish and maintain excellent customer relationships.
- Identify prospects and close deals to grow the Suspended Access business.
- Visit existing and prospective customers regularly to build relationships, retain, and win new business.
- Follow up on quotes and provide feedback to customers.
- Build and manage sales prospects and pipelines.
- Articulate the company's value proposition to customers.
- Explain Terms and Conditions of Hire and Sale to customers.
- Ensure adherence to contract terms and conditions.
- Meet GP% and Wage% targets on all jobs.
- Accurately and promptly claim all due payments.
- Manage debtor days in line with budgets.
- Pass on customer damages charges appropriately.
- Submit annual price increases and escalation notices timely.
- Achieve equipment utilization levels as per targets.
- Prepare and submit monthly invoices.
- Develop understanding of standard contract forms like NEC and JBCC.
- Meet revenue and profit targets.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Job costing, timesheets, monthly reporting.
- Complete personal vehicle logs and expense claims.
- Conduct stock takes (yard and site).
- Manage delivery and collection notes.
- Attend site meetings.
- Other general contract administrative duties
Ensure all work complies with safety standards, including:
- Work is only done with approved safety documentation, developed per client, OHS Act, and regulations.
- All SAE installations have signed drawings and a Certificate of System Design.
- TSP installations are performed safely, adhering to SANS, Construction Regulations, and OEM requirements.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of Construction Regulations, SANS 10295, 51808, and the OHS Act.
- Regular site walk-downs for safety compliance.
- Promote a safety culture aiming for zero injuries daily.
- Report safety deviations and hazards promptly.
- Ensure incidents are reported to the HSEQ Manager within the required timeframe.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks regularly.
