Job description

A Renewable Energy Company based in Midrand is currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Contracts Administrator to support our Legal Department in delivering solar and renewable energy infrastructure projects across South Africa.

This role provides essential assistance with contract administration, construction programme coordination, and document management to ensure smooth and compliant project execution.

Role / Responsibilities:

  1. Draft, issue, and manage construction notices (e.g., delays, EOTs, variations).
  2. Maintain and track the construction programme calendar.
  3. Vet and gather documents from internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Contact and obtain information from contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
  5. Draft basic letters, notices, and formal correspondence.
  6. Support the legal team with contract execution, compliance, claims, and close-out.
  7. Assist in maintaining legal and contract documentation systems, registers, and records.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Formal qualification in Law, Construction, or Commercial Management is advantageous but not essential.
  • 3–5 years' experience in contract administration (preferably in solar, construction, or infrastructure).
  • Familiarity with FIDIC, NEC, or JBCC contracts.
  • Knowledge of South African contract and construction law.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Smartsheet, and Visio is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage deadlines confidently.
  • Innovative, solutions-oriented, and resourceful.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proactive in following up, organising, and supporting legal and project functions.
  • Passion for renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure.
