Job Title: Contracts Administrative Manager

Key Performance Areas
- Assist in compiling construction-related contractual correspondence and draft responses in cooperation with responsible SM(s).
- Coordinate and compile daily, weekly, and monthly reports on progress, finance, disputes, and claims.
- Coordinate and submit construction records to the Engineering Team for As-Built records.
- Maintain registers and respond promptly to correspondence, claims, and queries from the Contractor.
- Arrange site and subordinate meetings, including setting agendas, invitations, venues, and distributing minutes.
- Evaluate project events, variation notices, and claims for entitlement and recommend actions.
- Manage all Construction matters within the Construction Management team, including assisting with the Dispute Review Board (DRB) process.
- Review progress reports against the programme and make recommendations.
- Monitor and report on milestone achievement and payment certification related to contractual issues.
- Coordinate efforts between the Contracts Management team and the Construction Assurance team, ensuring contractual priorities are met.
- Collaborate with other Project Support Teams (PST), including programming, variations, land, utilities, and communicate contractual requirements.
- Interface with Senior Managers (Chief Resident Engineers and Resident Engineers) on contractual issues and support site administration structures and plans.
- Coordinate with Section Managers to compile and align monthly development programme progress reports, ensuring contractual coverage.
- Manage construction records for Contract Management purposes, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping on-site.
- Identify contractual risks related to construction and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Manage construction-related risks, aligning with the broader PST risk management process.
- Develop and maintain a construction-related risk register.
- Prepare ad hoc reports for the Head of Contracts Management, such as FIDIC Engineer reports.
- Report issues of concern to the Head of Contracts Management.
- Support the growth and development of site-based commercial staff, including CPD opportunities.
Job Requirements
- BSc / BEng or B-Tech Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
- Professional registration with ECSA as a PrEng or PrTech, or with SACPQSP is advantageous.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience on major civil construction projects, with at least 5 years as a Quantity Surveyor, Contracts Engineer, or Programming Engineer.
- Working knowledge of construction law.
- Experience in construction of weirs, pipelines, roads, buildings, structures, heavy foundations, or civil construction is preferred.
