Job Title : Contract Manager

Location : Johannesburg, South Africa & Nairobi, Kenya

Job Purpose

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Contract Manager to oversee the entire contract lifecycle — from bidding and drafting to negotiation and signing.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Contract Generation & Management
    Lead contract generation during the bidding phase, including preparing commercial and legal proposals. Develop comprehensive contract solutions, including drafting, modifications, and consolidations. Participate in or lead negotiations with clients to reach mutual agreements. Oversee review, finalization, and signing of contracts during closing.
  2. Contract Quality & Risk Management
    Identify and mitigate commercial and legal risks. Serve as the reviewer for contract compliance, ensuring risk mitigation strategies are effective. Analyze past contracts and customer requirements to set norms and best practices. Monitor the full contract lifecycle for quality and compliance.
  3. Continuous Improvement & Enablement
    Enable teams to quickly deploy transaction capabilities for new scenarios. Share knowledge, tools, and tactics to build internal capabilities and alignment.
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of telecom fundamentals, commercial practices, legal, and financial principles.
  • Expertise in contract drafting, review, and negotiation.
  • Proficiency with contract tools, systems, and processes.
  • Experience in risk assessment and decision support.
  • Excellent customer engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Experience with sales operations and risk control.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in contract management or commercial operations, preferably in telecom or technology sectors.
