Gransolar Group is a group of vertically integrated companies specialising in solar photovoltaic energy and battery storage systems, with 17 years of experience in the solar photovoltaic industry, that operates in all sections of the value chain of the renewable energy project. Position Overview

To keep growing together, we are looking for a Contract Manager based in our offices in Johannesburg, RSA.

General Responsibilities

  1. Provide contractual expertise during pre-contract and project delivery phases.
  2. Ensure tenders, quotations, and contracts align with GRS policies and protect company interests.
  3. Lead negotiations and finalization of contract terms.
  4. Oversee legal compliance, rights, obligations, and risk management.
  5. Conduct contract audits and resolve disputes effectively.

Project-Specific Responsibilities

EPC Contracts

  1. Manage and coordinate EPC contracts, licenses, and permits.
  2. Track and fulfill EPC contractual obligations.
  3. Assist in drafting, negotiating, and closing subcontracts and supply agreements.
  4. Support project management, risk assessment, and daily operations.
  5. Ensure compliance with legal and contractual requirements, including insurance and financing instruments.
  6. Handle change orders, claims management, and dispute resolution.
  7. Plan contractual strategy and report to the Project Director.
  8. Oversee contract finalization, payments, and close-out procedures.

O&M Contracts

  1. Develop and monitor contractual obligations and performance.
  2. Enforce compliance, manage breaches, and oversee policy adherence.
  3. Assist with HR and legal communications for GRS South Africa.
  4. Maintain an annual contracts management plan.

Requirements

  1. Economics, Business Administration, Law or Engineering degree.
  2. Advanced English C1 level.
  3. Experience: 2 - 3 years of experience performing similar functions.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience and a proven track record in the renewable energy space.

Other Requirements

  1. Knowledge of Contracts.
  2. Understanding of operational and financial risks.
  3. Knowledge of Purchasing and Manufacturing.
