Job description

The Healthcare & Education Division of OCS Group has an exciting opportunity available at one of its prestigious (Multi Site) contracts in the East London, Bedfordshire, and Hertfordshire region. OCS is recognized worldwide as a market leader in the Healthcare and Education sectors, committed to making people and places the best they can be.

The role involves leading a team to provide an integrated Soft FM service across a NHS Mental Health contract spanning 74 sites. Responsibilities include managing operational teams to ensure efficient service delivery within budget and service specifications, monitoring quality and financial performance, and reporting on KPIs and service metrics.

Driving social value and supporting a core social agenda are central to this role and integral to our operations.

This high-profile NHS contract generates approximately £13 million in revenue and includes services such as Cleaning, Patient Catering, Retail Catering, Pest Control, Grounds and Gardens, Linen and Laundry, Portering, Pharmacy Courier, Security, Feminine Hygiene, Window Cleaning, and Vending within NHS mental healthcare services. It also oversees a critical distribution patient feeding hub supporting this and another OCS contract.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Develop and implement operational procedures.
  2. Provide strategic and tactical support across all sites.
  3. Ensure ISO compliance.
  4. Manage services provided by staff, sub-contractors, and site teams to meet SLAs and budgets.
  5. Build relationships with client and end-user decision makers.
  6. Ensure service quality and legislative compliance.
  7. Contribute to proposals, client liaison, and service design for business growth.
  8. Manage budgets for each site.
  9. Lead project management of new initiatives.
  10. Provide regular reports and management information.
  11. Promote service accreditation, social value, and environmental initiatives.
  12. Ensure contract compliance and health & safety standards.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  1. Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
  2. Experience managing multiline budgets and P&L accounts.
  3. Excellent communication, presentation, and motivational skills.
  4. Proven experience managing outsourced Soft FM services.
  5. Knowledge of Social Value measurement tools (beneficial but not essential).
  6. Organizational skills and lateral thinking for innovation.
  7. Knowledge of NHS 2021 Cleaning standards.
  8. Food Safety Level 3 (Level 4 preferred).
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Power BI, and people management software.
  10. Understanding of HR processes and procedures.
