Job summary

Maersk in Cape Town seeks an experienced Contract Manager to govern post-execution contracts, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage lifecycle across regions and categories. You will be the IMEA lead for Contract Governance, defining standards, playbooks, and controls while collaborating with Operations, Finance, Legal, and suppliers to protect value and mitigate risk.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in contract management or related domains, a formal legal qualification, and a proven ability

Qualifications

Minimum 8 years in contract management, governance or in-house legal/procurement.
Strong interpretation of contracts and lifecycle governance.
Experience with procurement, sourcing, P2P and financial controls.
Ability to translate legal language into operational requirements.
Experience under structured governance and audit environments.
Stakeholder management across Operations, Finance, Legal, Procurement.

Responsibilities

Develop awareness of contract terms and compliance across internal stakeholders.
Lead structured contract handovers to ensure understanding of obligations and risks.
Translate complex terms into business-executable formats with approved legal positions.
Maintain rate management systems, contract repositories and dashboards for transparency.
Establish post-execution playbooks for IMEA region.
