Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in the City of Cape Town for a candidate who is passionate about writing, and has an eye for detail. The Copywriter & Content Editor will be responsible for writing articles in monthly themed issues, researching topics and industry trends, coming up with strategies alongside a supportive team to obtain information which we can then edit, and adapt for our issues. As well as being involved and engaged in events and marketing with the broader team. From writing articles to proofreading, coming up with exciting ideas around themes and issues, it is a multifaceted role, and overseeing content is the main challenge. The candidate must have a penchant for writing, and be very interested in Architecture and Design. Our issues are read by SA's architectural industry, so we write from a place of understanding. Daily tasks will include theme prep, topics and sub topics for "feature writers", script writing and ensuring content aligns with Scape's editorial team, message and narrative.

Qualifications

• Degree in English / Linguistics/ Journalism or a related field
• Strong Writing Skills (more than above average, we are looking for strong writers)
• Meticulous editing skills and proofreading
• Experience in following style guides
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently
• Understanding of the design and architecture industries is a plus
• Happy to meet clients, interview on teams or in person and client facing at times
• Able to juggle print, online, and in-person strategies
• A peoples person. (Because we look after a Magazine, Awards Programme, Trade Show and "curated events" a creative thinker is encouraged).
