Job Summary
Overall job purpose
The External Sales Consultant is responsible for actively pursuing sales growth (volume and value) and service delivery competitiveness by:
- Owning & delivering all individual performance targets for the allocated portfolio of external sales activities (Full accountability)
- Supporting collaborative sales activities between relationship banking, business banking, and corporate banking
- Upholding sales disciplines required to support sustainable relationships in relevance to scheme management
- Planning and conducting education on Absa’s value proposition to customers in support of sales and migration targets within the area
- Identifying opportunities and representing Absa in external sales engagements within assigned areas, e.g., workplace banking schemes, public forums, major events, festivals, etc.
- Improving overall Absa performance through the identification of sales and cross-sell opportunities and active engagement with colleagues across branches and regions
- Actively building networks and relationships within the assigned area to support lead generation and increase Absa's visibility

Planning and Growth
- Achieving sales performance objectives in B2C environments, including Inclusive Banking, Entry Level, and Bulk Acquisition Sales
- Delivering sales and service targets within assigned areas
- Collaborating on sales opportunities across business disciplines
- Ensuring end-to-end sales fulfillment and driving scheme penetration for EVP schemes
- Contributing to regional sales strategies and plans
- Proactively planning weekly activities to drive sales growth
- Identifying and leveraging cross-sell opportunities
- Monitoring and improving own sales and service performance
- Building networks within the area for events and forums
- Prospecting potential clients and converting leads into business
- Providing feedback to product and performance teams for improvements
- Engaging existing clients on new products and migration strategies
- Executing campaign management and daily sales planning
- Applying effective time management and adhering to sales standards
Customer and Stakeholder Management
- Understanding customer segments to support sales planning
- Engaging customers to understand needs and delivering end-to-end solutions
- Resolving client queries efficiently
- Ensuring a holistic customer experience and contributing to customer satisfaction scores
- Participating in client engagement routines
- Acting as a brand ambassador

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Banking
