Purpose of Position:

To provide a diagnostic anatomical pathology / histopathology consultative service to referring clinicians. Assist in the management and supervision of the daily activities of the anatomical pathology laboratories.

Requirements:

• FC Path(SA) (Required)
• HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field (Required)
• MBChB (Required)
• M Med (Pathology) (Required)

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise clients on life-threatening results
• Provide continuous education for pathology laboratories
• Maintain client relations to promote the image of Ampath
• Marketing
• Oversee the standard of work performed
• Manage overall operation and administration in the laboratory
• Promote professional standards and expertise
• Provide continuous pathology/clinical laboratory service: consultation with doctors, control and monitoring of results, result verification, reporting, participation in peer group, sign-out all abnormal results according to criteria
